Solo: When someone sees beyond my haggard, fugitive appearance.
What makes an Olive flourish on sacred ground?
When someone pays no mind to my poverty and shabby story.
What makes an Olive flourish on sacred ground?
When someone offers me sustenance to which I have no claim.
What makes an Olive flourish on sacred ground?
When someone goes a second mile not for duty, but for love of me.
What makes an Olive flourish on sacred ground?
When someone wagers life itself to preserve my future.
What makes an Olive flourish on sacred ground?
When someone welcomes me as though with Heaven’s arms of mercy.
Such are the holy works that cause an Olive to flourish on sacred ground. AMEN.
