A Parting Prayer of Blessing

God of all sojourns,
		You bid us greeting in our comings-in,
		And you bid us farewell at our departures.

	If we embrace and lay our hands today on ______________,
		It is in the belief that you have already embraced and laid your hand
			upon him/her/them,
		To claim _________ for yourself, to fill ________ with your Spirit,
		To sustain him/her/them, to defend and strengthen him/her/them,
		To make him/her/them bearers of friendship, hope and admonition
			That you intend for all the faithful who await his/her/their arrival.

	Grant that we may part now in perfect peace and confidence,
		Consoled by the promises you have tendered to us,
		For love of your reign and nearness,
			And for love of one another, we pray,
									For Jesus’ sake,  AMEN.
